چکیده

There are two popular ways to speed up simulations of planet formation via increasing the collision probability: ({\it i}) confine motion 2D, ii}) artificially enhance physical radii bodies by an expansion factor. In this paper I have performed 100 each containing $10^4$ interacting and computed parameters from results runs. Each run was executed for a lower higher accuracy parameter. The main goal is determine probability distribution functions their dependence on A simple method devised improve determination simulation data. It shown that impact parameter uniform independent For real collisions velocity greater than 1 mutual escape velocity, finding can be explained using two-body problem. casts some doubts terrestrial planets' final accretion assumed merge. Collision outcome maps were created adopting fragmentation model \cite{Leinhardt2012} estimate number different types collisions. detailed comparison with earlier works indicates there similarities as well significant differences between works. indicate planetary disc matures masses differs progressively majority lead mass growth either partial or graze-and-merge collision.

Kinematic and Dynamic Collision Statistics of Cloud Droplets From High-Resolution Simulations

We study the dynamic and kinematic collision statistics of cloud droplets for a range of flow Taylor microscale Reynolds numbers (up to 500), using a highly scalable hybrid direct numerical simulation approach. Accurate results of radial relative velocity (RRV) and radial distribution function (RDF) at contact have been obtained by taking advantage of their power-law scaling at short separation...

Statistics from Simulations A.1 Statistical Inference and Estimation of Population Parameters

When the goal is to estimate the parameter of some population (e.g., mean or variance), the usual procedure is to design a probability sample to provide a sample statistic. As an example, we might estimate the parameter ‘true average cost’ of an inventory system (population mean, ) with the statistic ‘average cost for 12 months’ (sample mean, x ); or we might estimate the proportion of taxpayer...

Back-calculation of mechanical parameters of shell and balls materials from discrete element method simulations

Discrete Element Method (DEM) is extensively used for mathematical modeling and simulating the behavior of discrete discs and discrete spheres in two and three dimensional space, respectively. Prediction of particles flow regime, power draw and kinetic energy for a laboratory or an industrial mill is possible by DEM simulation. In this article, a new approach was used to assess the main paramet...

Collision statistics of driven granular materials.

We present an experimental investigation of the statistical properties of spherical granular particles on an inclined plane that are excited by an oscillating side wall. The data is obtained by high-speed imaging and particle tracking techniques. We identify all particles in the system and link their positions to form trajectories over long times. Thus, we identify particle collisions to measur...

Accuracy Properties of the Statistics from Numerical Simulations

This paper is concerned with the approximation errors involved in the statistics from the sample paths generated by an approximate or computed policy function. Under fairly general assumptions, we establish convergence of these statistics to their true expected values as the approximation error of the policy function converges to zero. Furthermore, under additional regularity conditions we also...
